Nuclear Medicine Technologists


MedRelief Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. We partner with leading healthcare facilities and are looking for a dedicated professional to perform crucial diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients and operating specialized equipment to create images that help physicians diagnose and treat a variety of diseases. Your attention to safety, precision, and patient comfort will be vital to the success of each procedure and the well-being of every patient.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients orally or intravenously, following strict safety and dosage protocols.
  • Operate and maintain specialized imaging equipment, such as gamma cameras and PET scanners, to capture images of organs and tissues.
  • Perform a wide range of nuclear medicine procedures, including bone scans, cardiac stress tests, and thyroid uptakes.
  • Ensure all imaging is of diagnostic quality and meets the standards of the healthcare facility.
  • Adhere to all radiation safety regulations and institutional policies, including the proper handling and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Accurately document patient information, radiopharmaceutical administration, and procedural details in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, oncologists, and other medical staff to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Educate patients about the procedure and address any questions or concerns they may have.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Certification by the ARRT in Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) or the NMTCB.
  • Current state licensure, if required.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation physics, nuclear medicine principles, and radiopharmaceutical handling.
  • Proficiency in operating gamma cameras, PET scanners, and other related equipment.
  • Excellent communication, patient care, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
